Create a job that you love.

Now taking a closer look, you can figure out what it is that you were meant to do in life.  This has to come from you, from within.  Your mom can’t tell you, your friend, teacher or boss can’t tell you.  Not even a career or life coach can tell you what it is that you should do; only you can figure this out.

Everyone has an interest, a passion.  Everyone knows something that is of value to others.

• What do you love to do?
• What do you read about?
• What do you talk about?
• What would you pay to do?
• How would you spend your days if money was no object?

The answer to these questions will give you an indication of what your passion and true calling is.  There is a good chance that it will be something that you have been obsessed with since you were young.

Once you figure it out or at least have an idea of which direction that you are heading ask yourself:

• Does anyone get paid doing this?
• How could you get paid to do this?
• What is stopping you?

That last question is where the excuses come in.  I’m too busy, no money, I don’t know where to start, it’s not the right time.  One of the biggest worries that people have is fear of failure.  If you never start something then you can’t possibly fail.  The problem is that you never succeed either.

All that you need are clear goals, hard work and belief in yourself.  Once you have identified your niche you need to research it.  Research it on Google, read everything that you can about the subject.  Buy books, go to the library, watch videos, take an online course. See what information is out there, if there isn’t any, well then maybe it’s up to you to create it.

Getting started is the most difficult part, but you also need to make sure that you have thoroughly researched things.  Don’t jump in too quickly.  Don’t start with half-baked ideas.  Don’t try get rich quick schemes and don’t spend a lot of money.  In the beginning just stick your toe in the water.  Start on a shoe string budget and see if the business looks promising.

Once you have it figured out then as Nike says, “Just Do It.”  You don’t need a lot of fanfare, you don’t even need to tell anyone if you don’t want to.  Sometimes it’s better not to tell anyone, not everyone will be supportive of your decision and if things don’t work out as you had hoped then you won’t be embarrassed.

But really there is nothing to be embarrassed about; you are doing what most people only dream of doing.  You took a chance, sometimes we are successful and sometimes not.  If things don’t work out then you regroup and try again.  Never give up on your dreams.
